Austin Gorski is a film director, producer, and editor based in New Orleans, Louisiana - and the founder of HIDDEN FRAMES, a production company for bold filmmakers to tell daring stories in between the margins of classic Hollywood and “good taste”.

Austin started his filmmaking journey in high school, making short films with Columbus-based filmmaker Grant Jones. Austin then moved to Sarasota, Florida in 2015 to attend Ringling College of Art & Design, where he got an under-graduate degree in Digital Filmmaking.

Right out of college in 2019, Austin was hired to work alongside the Bridges Family as a co-producer and as the 1st Assistant Director on the feature film “ACTING: THE FIRST SIX LESSONS”. The film, which stars Beau and Emily Bridges, is now available to rent and purchase.

Austin then moved to New Orleans at the end of 2019. Before and during the pandemic, Austin found set work for various tier-level big-budget productions. He worked as an Office PA on the 2021 sci-fi thriller “REMINISCENCE” starring Hugh Jackman, and then worked as an on-set PA for 2022’s “DEEP WATER” starring Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas and 2023’s “THE BURIAL” starring Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones.

In 2023, Austin began shifting his focus to editing full-time. Austin has edited music videos for bands such as KIDS THAT FLY and SUM SUN and in 2024, he finished editing the feature-length anthology film “BLADES OF GRASS”, which won “Best Independent Film” at the New York Independent Arts Film Festival 2025.

In the summer of 2025, Austin directed, edited, and co-produced the supernatural horror drama “STRAND”, which was a deeply creative collaboration between Austin and Gabriel Rosales, the lead actor, producer, and screenwriter of the film. The two filmmakers had only met six weeks before rolling cameras on “STRAND”, but quickly found a shared love for horror movies as well as emotionally resonating stories.

Austin and Gabriel became creative partners shortly after production wrapped, looking for the next project the two could work on together. When post-production was completed in December of 2025, Austin hosted a “Friends and Family” screening for the project.

“STRAND” debuted at the 2025 Louisiana Film Prize, where it received the festival’s “2025 Founder’s Circle Award”. Since, the film played in countless film festivals throughout both 2025 and 2026, including Dances with Films - Los Angeles, the New Orleans Film Festival, the Cleveland International Film Festival, and the El Dorado Film Festival.

As “STRAND” began its festival run, the duo began co-writing a high-concept re-imagining of a lesser-known Edgar Allan Poe story, “THE PREMATURE BURIAL”. Shortly after the two began reworking the story for their modern-day interpretation, they renamed the project to better reflect the quickly-evolving gothic horror drama - “INHUMATION”.

“INHUMATION” began filming in the summer of 2026. Austin returned to direct, edit, and co-produce alongside Gabriel, Gabriel’s wife Gabriella, co-producer & composer Claudio Venancio, Parker Gibbs, and Austin’s long-time cinematographer Jack Patterson. The film, a co-production between Austin’s HIDDEN FRAMES and Gabriel’s DOOR 13, is currently in post-production and will start its festival run in late 2026.

THE FUTURE

Austin and Gabriel are currently in pre-production on a high-concept indigenous horror feature “IT’S NOT ME”, as well as looking to turn their short “STRAND” into a feature film as well.

Austin and HIDDEN FRAMES are also looking to cultivate a lively, exciting, and bold group of creatives at the top of their games. Austin works with his trusted team that has grown over the years, whether it’s people Austin met from his film school days, or other talented filmmakers Austin has encountered along the way since beginning his filmmaking journey over a decade ago.
